My Top 10 Favorite Nyotalia Characters

Sometimes I feel like the only one who realizes that these characters aren't merely genderbends. I mean, they do have different personalities, and sometimes they're shown alongside the male characters. They really are different people. Anyway, since the Nyos aren't really shown all that much, and historically they're hardly different from their male counterparts, this list is mostly based on personality and design.

England: I already love England's character, but when England is a girl with an Alice in Wonderland type dress and a broomstick, that love increases for some illogical reason. Another interesting thing is that FrUK is my favorite Nyotalia couple, too. XD Totally different from usual.

Japan: Could she be any more perfect?! I actually have more fanart of this character than England saved to my computer, but that's just because it's so pretty. While it doesn't fit the complex relationship between China and Japan that fascinates me so much quite as well, I think her character is interesting in it's own right just because of how different she is. Not only that, having Japan as a woman is really interesting. (Plus, she canonically has complicated feelings for America, and as an Ameripan fan I really like that. =w= )

Austria: As much as I love the role swap between Austria and Hungary in Hetalia, I just love how elegant and beautiful she is. ;w; Like seriously. She's gorgeous. She even gives Taiwan, who I think is one of the most beautiful women in anime, a run for her money! I wish a bit more of her personality was revealed, because she looks like the kind of girl you can't push around. I'd love to see her arguing with Nyo!Prussia! XD

France: I adore regular France and think he's really complex, and I just love his relationship with Jeanne D'Arc. The only reason Nyo!France is higher on her list than her male counterpart was is because there just wasn't anyone else I wanted to put above her. My main reason for loving her so much is the idea of her meeting Male England. Seriously, as much as England tries to hate on France, I think this chick could wrap him around her little finger in seconds, and that's just awesome. XD

Russia: Swapping out the childishly cruel Russia for an emotionally unstable but motherly female version? For some reason I really like that idea. Maybe it's the Mother Russia thing, or maybe it's just that I like emotionally unstable characters. I feel like she'd be a really interesting character if she had more screen time.

China: I'll admit, the reason she's so low on this list is because I like Male China so much more. He's the character I grew attached to and identified with in the beginning, so the difference in personality with this character actually makes me like her less. It doesn't mean I dislike her, though, because she's still adorable and even a little scary. XD Not only that, but my goodness, her voice was to die for!

North Italy: I don't think any of the Nyos are as different from their male counterpart as this girl is. She kicks a**! The scene where she's scolding Russia has got to be one of the most awesome things I've seen! Just everything about her screams that she's not one to be taken lightly, even if she's still fun and friendly. I just really love spunky girls.

America: Just as spunky and cool as North Italy, I think. She's a little lower on the list just because her personality isn't such a stark contrast to her male counterpart. She's still cool though!

Germany: I just love Germany in either form, and he's one of many that just barely missed my Top Ten list. I probably like her and Male Germany equally, so I'm glad I was able to fit her on here.

South Korea: Same story as Germany. Love both Koreas equally, and I'm just happy I was able to get her on here.
